Diabetes Youth Advocates
The IDF Youth Leadership website describes youth advocates as:
“Each of them is a compassionate, caring and dedicated volunteer who strives to better the lives of those affected by diabetes.”
Youth with diabetes (including children, teens, and young adults) are invited to serve as a youth advocate at the Lights, Camera, Cure event. Responsibilities of the youth advocates could include:

- Conduct diabetes education for event participants at one of the diabetes education stations. The youth advocates
provide information, run a fun game or quiz, or provide information about their experiences living with diabetes. The
stations include:
- What is Diabetes?
- Exercise
- Healthy Eating
- Prevention of Type 2 diabetes
- Insulin Devices (This stations is great for someone wearing an insulin pump or using an insulin pen).
- Monitoring
- Help with fun games
- Sell t-shirts
- Take tickets
- Help with Diabetes Bingo
